Nexen holds 10% or better of their assets on U S soil. So with that this acquisition needs to be approved by the U S gov't to a foriegn country for security reasons. Which the U S gov't plans to review.
BUTT, This is the biggie. Before the deal takes effect Nexen could plan on selling off all U S assets. This will cut the U S gov't off at the knees on anything to say about the deal.

And experts called this shot months ago that if he didn't ok the Keystone Pipeline, the oil would go to China. And it's even worse than that, the whole f**king oil company went to China! The Chinese are already pumping our oil out of the Gulf while our guys are sitting home with their thumbs up their asses waiting for permits and now this!
