This just may be taking abuse a step to far. If using a switch on a child is abuse, then when I was growing up, every mom and dad in the state, would be indicted. Liberals take things to the extreme, they need to think before any action is taken.

Just wanted to add, doing away with corporal punishment in schools, may have increased the amount of bulling, in schools today. I don't ever recall any bullying, when I attended school, over 60 years ago. First thing that happen, doing away with prayers. Liberals have a way of screwing things up.

I got my share of whippings, not spankings, as a child and each time I can honestly say it was well deserved. Did I like them, He11 NO! But it keep me out of jail, with a clean record, and made me a productive member of society. I raised my two children the same way. Both are college graduates with Masters degrees. If it Ain't broke, don't fix it, but be careful. Never discipline your child if you are too angry, then it could turn into abuse.

Corporal punishment was taken out of schools because the school systems were tired of being sued. Since parents did not want the schools to discipline their child, they started suspending students for bad behavior and let the parents deal with their child. As for school prayer, it was one Atheist women that singlehandedly got prayer taken out of the schools was Congress did nothing to stop it. see Madelyn O’Hare -- not sure of spelling of last name
