ATLANTA, Ga. — A Douglasville, Georgia, woman has won a $371,516 Georgia Lottery prize with numbers she received from her husband working in Afghanistan.
Carol Hicks, 37, won the prize as one of two players to match all five winning numbers in the April 2 Fantasy 5 drawing.
"My husband called me from Afghanistan, and he asked me to play these numbers," Hicks said.
Winning numbers from the drawing were: 1-6-10-17-39.
RaceTrac #0439, 5897 Fairburn Road in Douglasville, sold the winning ticket. The second jackpot winning ticket was sold in Ringgold.
"I thought it was an April Fools' joke," Hicks said. "I got my phone to check the results, wiped my eyes and screamed."
Hicks' husband works as a contractor in Afghanistan. The family anticipates paying off bills.
