Who says Canadians can't participate in US elections?
No, they can't vote in US elections, but Canadians can place bets on who is going to win.
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has been taking bets on the 2016 U.S. election since early last year. It's become the most popular wager in an online gaming category the lottery calls "novelty betting."
The provincial lottery contracts with a global sportsbook based in Ireland to set the odds. BC Lottery spokesman Doug Cheng said the odds of a Donald Trump victory have improved since even last week, but the odds makers still favor a Hillary Clinton victory.
"Donald's Trump's odds are currently 37/20 — in other words, slightly under 2 to 1 — to become the next president," Cheng said. "To put it in perspective, he has closed the gap significantly as his initial odds in January 2015 were 100 to 1."
A $5 bet placed on the Democratic nominee Clinton on Monday would pay out $7.10 if she wins in November. The same bet placed on Republican nominee Trump would pay out $14.25 if he wins.
For at least a few more days, Cheng said Canadians can make a long-shot bet on Democrat Bernie Sanders at 59 to 1 odds.
If you're feeling lucky, know that the BC Lottery limits its U.S. election wagers to its own provincial residents over the age of 19.
"You can't bet, but you can definitely vote, which we can't do up here," Cheng said in telephone interview. "That's a trade-off I guess."
The BC Lottery is also taking bets on which political party will triumph in several key battleground states including Florida, North Carolina and Ohio.
"We have always paid a lot of attention to American elections because we are such close neighbors," Cheng said from Vancouver. "The media interest was really ramped up on this particular election. I think you see that reflected in the wagers we're taking on this novelty betting category. I think this really shows that people in B.C. are intently watching the U.S. election south of the border."
The provincial lotteries in Nova Scotia and Manitoba are also offering online wagers on the American presidential election.
Besides traditional state lottery games, the BCLC operates casinos and a sportsbook. British Columbians can bet on Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners games as well as whether the Oregon Ducks, Washington Huskies or some other university team will win next season's college football championship. Bettors can also wager on who will win gold medals at the Rio 2016 Olympics among other things.
In the United States, online gambling is illegal as is betting on elections. Betting on the outcome of sports contests is legal in Nevada. Political betting has been offered in Britain for decades.
BC Lottery profits fund government services and grants to non-profits, much like state lotteries in the United States.

Went to my class reunion a couple weeks ago, many of the people there I have not seen since the 70's.

I actually agree with Trump about the Immigration problem, both as it pertains to the Middle East and the Mexican/American border. However, Trump has sabotaged his own public image, calling his character into question. I also question whether or not some of his new policy ideas can pass through both the Congress and the Senate, or is he going to experience serious "stonewall" like previous Presidents. [We already know the answer to this.] The job of US President is a serious Reality Check for anyone.
As long as he doesn't come up with some STUPID Idea that affects the American State Lotteries, I suppose we will have to suffer through 4 years of President Trump.
One thing that does concern me though, is his idea to cut back on funding to the US Department of Education. A lot of college students depend on Federal Financial Aid to attend College. Not every state is using money from the state lottery to fund student college tuition to the extent that they should or could. In some states like SC, lottery funding only kicks in after certain types of Federal Financial Aid or other State Financial Aid, and lottery money can only be used for certain college expenses, not for any or everything related to college.
The following comes from a local College website [Community College] pertaining to the use of Lottery Money to fund College Tuition Expenses:
"The amount you can use toward tuition and fee charges is based on the amount of these charges remaining on your account after Federal Pell Grant, FSEOG, SCNBG and NGCAP have been applied to your student account. If you receive a LIFE Scholarship or a tuition waiver, you will not receive LTAP. If your tuition and fees are paid by VA, you will not receive the LTAP award. [LTAP = Lottery Tuition Assistance Program]

In the city where I live at, for some reason [???], only the local Community Colleges are receiving State Lottery Assistance. The local 4 year Colleges are Not.
In any case, if Federal College funding is cut, where does that leave the states and students who cannot otherwise afford a College Education.
I really don't think Donald Trump has given some of his ideas any in depth contemplation. He is only looking at the "larger picture" [Balance the Budget], but we live our lives by "daily snapshots" of the larger picture, and each person's larger picture is DIFFERENT.

My question is can Trump work Congress because it's nothing like working with a board of directors and with foreign leaders. Another thing I find problematic is the support (or lack of) by the top Republicans; there is a huge difference between saying they will support the candidate and wearing a "I like Trump" button.
The members of Congress have over the past 20 years gone from largely being a body of trustees (Vote based on the merits) and delegates (voting the wy their constituents want) to being a body of almost entirely partisan (voting the way the party wants). If Trump wins and he gets a Republican Congress, he can get virtually anything he wants. if he gets a Democratic Congress, then literally next to nothing will get done.The same would happen in reverse with Hillary.
The Republican base is united while the leadership is divided, The Democratic leadership is united while the base is divided. I don't know which is worse, this election will tell.
I don't think that Trump will be able to get anything he wants if the Republicans control the Congress and the Senate, for the simple reason that the Republicans are NOT necessarily in agreement with Trump on what policy should be. If Trump gets elected, the Republicans will either gradually start to fall in line with some of Trump's ideas, or they won't !!! Instead, they will force Trump to fall in line with their ideas, or Nothing will get accomplished or passed, as usual.

Each state has one or more (California has 53) Congressional districts and the idea is to elect a Representative that will vote what is best for that district. There are two US Senators from each state and again they should at least try to vote in the best interest of their state. The most recent Asian voter survey, released by three Asian-American non-profit organisations, shows that 61 per cent of registered Asian- American voters have an unfavourable opinion of Mr Trump and only 19 per cent look upon him favourably.
Candidate preferences aside, the Democrats also have a favourability rating of 64 per cent with Asian- Americans compared with 31 per cent for the Republicans.

I can't speak for Drenick but I would say that Fox news even though they tend to lean right is probably the fairest as they do have a few left leaning anchors. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS are well known for being in the tank for Democrats. Over 90% of their employees are registered Democrats while a few worked for Hillary herself.
I think fox news is just like the rest of the news stations. So I watch foxnews, cnn, and msnbc to try and get the big picture. Certain shows on fox seem to really push right sometimes in a childess way, but my favorite would be morning joe on msnbc.

No, they don't. A Pew research poll from a few years back said half of Republicans support a raise in min. wage. I've since seen other more recent polls that show a majority of Republicans favor an increase, but not to the levels the Democrats propose.
As has been explained to you in here, min. wage was always intended to be a starting wage for people entering the work force, not a perpetual one. I've read that, in McDonalds case, it wouldn't raise the price of a burger by much. That's probably true in some other areas, too, but I'd also bet it will reduce the numbers of those entry level employees hired. McD's is already working on automation and I bet other businesses will follow suit because labor costs are usually 70% of any business's overhead. Sure, raise it if you must, but it HAS to be gradual or the wage hike will have some adverse repercussions, a ripple effect which would turn into a tidal wave and wreak havoc with our economy.
That's one of the most fundamental differences between Progressives and Conservatives; a Conservative says "Wait a minute, let's not be too hasty, let's think about it, discuss it before doing anything." That's a staggering number, but what I find sickening is how abortion is celebrated as a woman's right to choose, yet nothing is mentioned about the unborn's right to life, their civil rights being terminated along with the pregnancy. I've done a LOT of reading about the meme that "Blue states support Red states". First of all, the 90% figure needs to be flushed down the toilet, just like many other of your "facts". The "Blue vs. Red" division needs to be stabbed in the heart, because it's not only more complicated than that, it's also a lie.
If you ever take the time to look at red/blue spots by voting demographics, you'll see that the U.S. is more "purple" than simply red or blue. Makes sense if you look at how the last several presidential elections went, but then again, if you'll look closer, you'll see that many states that voted for the Democrat presidential candidate have a majority of Republicans in their state houses as well as represented in Congress and vice versa in others. Others, not all.
So, saying a state is either red or blue depends upon how they voted in the last Presidential election is a case of mislabeling. Except for blue states such as NY and Mass., several others in the northeast and on the west coast, some so-called red states like Florida have flipped back and forth.
Then too, just like any other analysis of statistics, one must "drill down" and consider other numbers and variables. For instance, Texas is a "red state", right? Well, look at some of the largest population density regions, such as the Valley and Houston, etc. They're solidly "Blue" and other large Texas cities are "light Blue". Large urban centers vote Democrat, that's a fact. Consider New Orleans in Louisiana, Atlanta in Georgia, other huge cities in red states. They vote Democrat. Again, that's a fact, look it up.
A Pew study and poll showed Democrats were responsible for 60+% of the benefits taken. I've seen other articles claim the figure is closer to 80% in some categories. Consider the huge numbers of Democrats in those urban centers, it's obvious that it's not Southern Republicans taking the welfare, it's that they are supporting the Democrat voters - the "leeches" - in their states.
I'm sure you'll try to come back with social security figures or how much each state gets in Federal dollars vs. what they pay back, etc., but that argument is often made by misleading statistics or over-simplifying them or not accounting that - for example - that many "red" states have more military bases (pork projects from past Democratic Representatives) and that "red" states like Florida and Arizona have a larger than average elderly population using their PAID FOR benefits like SSI and Medicare. Add in Federal land in "red" states that have a big influx of federal dollars (many Western states) and even that equation changes which would prove you even more wrong.

Those numbers are from 2010. Obama for the last several years has been on a mission to decimate the US military while China and Russia have elevated their defense budget to record levels. The 2016 budget for our entire military is now just north of $500 billion (it was over $700 Billion before Obama).
Russia and China on the other hand have gone full steam ahead in their defense spending and are close to doubling what their budget was before Obama took office. A large amount of our defense funds goes toward NATO.

His collarbone injury last year (they rushed him back too soon from the first injury) caused him to miss most of the season, as did the same type of injury in 2010 which caused him to miss most of the season. Other than those, he hasn't missed all that many games, all things considered AND other QB's injuries considered. The polls I'm talking about are usually taken to determine if there is a change in the electorate. For instance starting in 1992 California voted for the Democrat President candidate in every election and the latest California shows Clinton ahead by 16 points. Texas has voted for the Republican President candidate in every election starting in 1980 and the latest poll there shows Trump leading by 11 points.
Because of the past results and the latest polls, it's highly likely both states will vote the same in 2016 as they did in 2012. The Iowa polls showed Clinton ahead by 3 points a month ago, but down a point three days ago. With only 6 electoral votes, the effect is much less than the larger populated states.

The Current KY poll shows Trump winning by 13 and the LA polls show him winning by 16. IMO, the polls are based on common sense; if a state voted for one party by large numbers in the past couple elections and the polls show the same that state should vote that way.

Did you ever look at letters from counsel and pleadings? If an attorney is in DC and licensed in another jurisdiction, they have to have all pleadings co-signed by another firm counsel with DC bar membership. Thus, most end up with 2 state bar licenses sooner than later. Most firms give you 18 months to obtain your DC license. I doubt you even have a GED.

Read today where our Governor issued an executive order firing one of his cabinet members. The definition of executive order pretty much answers most of your questions. The short answer is Presidential executive orders are used to manage Federal Government operations. Many EOs are for the Defence Department and armed forces. Here is a disposition table that might help you better understand the purpose. They can be amended, revoked, or supersede too.
Number 5: Obama has less EOs than any two term President back to the 19th century. I guess the people who are upset are Constitutionally ignorant.
As for question 7, the President can't force Congress to pass a bill, but they have the power to veto a bill. A more likely scenario would be Clinton with a Republican House and possibly a Republican Senate.

Strange statement considering your lottery systems use past performances and basically the good Presidential polling is conducted to see if there are changes in past data. If the same demographic in 2000 and 2004 predicted Bush should win in Texas, McCain in 2008, and Romney in 2012 and if the results verify the prediction (plus or minus the margin of error), there is no reason to believe the same demographic won't predict the 2016 election. Currently the polls show that while Trump is polling less than Romney in 2012 (50% to 57%), his 10 point lead means Trump will likely win in Texas.
I would agree with you if you're specifically talking about National polls because the only thing that counts is the electoral map. It's easy enough to predict KY's 8, Kansas' 6, and Missouri's 10 will go to Trump, but they will be neutralized by New Jersey's 14 and Maryland's 10 going to Clinton.

It's a fact at least 22 precincts in Cuyahoga County, Ohio (Cleveland) voted 100% for Obama in 2012. It's also a fact that over 200 precincts in Utah voted 100% for Romney in 2012.

I saw where one of Trump's new campaign managers Kellyanne Conway when asked about Trump's real chances, she acknowledge Clinton has 242 electoral votes locked up and it's going to be an uphill battle. There is no Vegas line because betting on elections is illegal, but currently Ladbrokes in England has Clinton at 1:4, Trump at 3:1, and Trump being replaced as the Republican candidate is 7:1.
For those wondering where the 242 votes came from, it's from the solid 2012 states voting Democrat. If the that number stays firm, Trump must win Florida and almost all the other toss-up states. The polls in two of the toss-up states, PA and Colorado show Clinton ahead by 9 and 12 respectively. And those 29 electoral votes put Clinton at 271.
The emails and the insults to POWs, Gold Star Families, American born judges, etc. are well known and most voters already made up their minds. So the question is are Clinton's odds as the favorite worth the bet and are Trump's 3:1 as the underdog much lower than they should be?

I can show ten polls showing Clinton leading from 2 to 13 points but dueling poll numbers prove little or nothing. Real Clear Politics has several National and state polls including senate races. In 2012 Obama got less than 52% of the popular vote, but got almost 62% of the electoral vote. Anyone placing a very large wager to get 2:5 on Clinton or 2:1 on Trump might need more information than a 2 or 3 point swing in the current National polls.
IMO, I'd look at the individual state past voting and current polls. For instance Texas has 38 electoral votes and voted Republican by over 10 points in the last four elections. The current polls show Trump leading by 11 points so it's a safe bet Trump will win in Texas. On the other hand California has voted Democrat by double digits in the last four elections and Clinton is currently leading by 13 to 30 points so it's a safe bet Clinton will win in California.
When you add up all the safe bets (states consistently voting for either party in the past and current polls indicating no change) the electoral vote is Clinton 249 and Trump 163. To win Trump needs to win 107 more electoral votes from swing states and must win both PA and Florida.

I didn't give him any advice on how to spend his winnings, but when a close friend of mine won over $12 million after taxes he invited me and 10 others to a seven day "every thing paid" for golf trip to Vegas. It was a really nice gesture and to my knowledge nobody asked for a handout.

are getting a good education while in fact many of them will be underemployed if they can't find a job. This is how I see
the top of the Democrat party. More debt and lower wages, Bernie understood this before he flipped but like a good

He just finished up a speech by saying he will "make America great again, greater than ever before". Sounds like Herbert Hoover's 1928 "chicken in every pot and a car in every garage" campaign slogan.
