WESTLAND, Mich. — A Michigan man has won his second Michigan Lottery jackpot in 18 months.

The lucky player from Westland, who chose to remain anonymous, who won a $208,225 Fantasy 5 jackpot. He previously won a $125,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot in January 2016.

He was one of two players who matched the numbers drawn on Tuesday to split a $416,450. He bought his winning ticket at the Westland Food Store, located at 1690 South Venoy road in Westland.

"When I won the first Fantasy 5 jackpot in January 2016, I didn't think I could get any luckier," the player said in a news release. "After I won that jackpot, I started playing a few new sets of numbers and I hadn't really won much, but I stuck it out and I sure am glad I did."

Winning a Fantasy 5 jackpot for a second time left the player stunned and led to a couple of sleepless nights.

"I really couldn't believe I won again," said the player. "I haven't slept much at all because I keep thinking about how blessed I am to have won again."

The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters Thursday to claim his big prize. With his winnings he plans to buy a new home, take a trip, and then save the remainder.

"It's nice to have this extra cushion and to know that I can move my retirement plans up by a few years," the player said.

Congratulations!

Not a mathematician by any stretch, but there seems to be a pattern here in his number selection.

Come on fellow LP members, figure this one out for me.

Feisty1

Congratulations to him! And nicely played too.

Looks like he just wheeled 14 numbers and used #5 as his key/banker/power number ...

Now HOW he chose those specific numbers is the real question! Wink

Well to start off, this game is a RNG game.

Since it appears he used a wheel, he didn't calc the EXACT 5 numbers (but then again, neither did Tipton).  If he playing the same set (or similar) to his previous win, then it is luck. Or I won't be surprised if he is doing something similar to me (but more successful) is to try and duplicate the RNG.

Congrats to him, too.

According to the Michigan lottery:  Fantasy five are balls from 1-39 and five are chosen.  This means it is NOT a dreaded RNG game.  Go to their website 'How to Play' if you don't believe me.

I'm in Michigan and I assure you, Fantasy 5, Lotto 47, and Keno are RNG games.

OK guys, just spoke to DeJuan MI lottery and he said that the five #'s come out of a group of 1-39 balls and is not RNG.  Keno has to be RNG due to the amount of draws every so many minutes.  The drawings will not come onto the computer.  You know where my money goes on this one.  Also sent them an email asking the same question.

Have a great weekend!

There was another story back on May 9th about another guy in the metro Detroit area, Allen Park I believe, who hit the Fantasy Five for his 3RD time with easy picks for a total of over  $760,000.  It is on the MSL website...click on the news portion on the bottom and set it back to May 2017 to read the story.

My numbers from Sept 2004 haven't hit for over $10 Yet!  (Ponder that...it has been about 13 years and still no match of 4).

What probably is going on is I entered my losing tickets into a promotion to win a trip to that big resort on Bermuda or the Bahamas ( I don't remember which) and they took them and programmed the RNGs Not to pick my numbers for over $10  ;)

The only Michigan in-state games that are drawn with real lottery ball machines are the Daily 3 and Daily 4 games.  The others (Classic Lotto 47, Fantasy 5, Keno, and Poker Lotto) are all computerized drawings.

I'd recommend writing to the Michigan Lottery if you doubt this.  Their description about "balls" in the How to Play section is misleading.

Congratulations to this lucky winner, hey he might be one of LP members here, but in hiding. Coffee  I hope it is. I was thinking that this ticket could be a partial one of the few or many he played. But whatever he did or does with his chosen numbers ended up hitting every 6 months and he is consistent with his plays.

Thanks, Todd for posting this and his ticket, maybe one of the great experts here can figure it out somehow.Hurray!

Nice play on digits, looks similar to D-Trap or HT lines

Nah, sorry, but no.  Their Twitter is @MILottery. I asked, and they answered this morning in the affirmative, with a Seinfeld GIF. You can find it under Tweets and Replies. Fantasy 5 and Lotto 47 are RNG.

Don't do Twitter and of course 'they' haven't gotten back with me on old-fashioned email.  I did ask if MI lottery is served by IGT and he said 'what's that'?   Many states are, for instance they handle all KY lottery inquiries/problems with on-line gambling etc.  I always ask and being a noble investor in IGT I like to know.

CONGRATULATIONS! Banana

On both your WINS!

I still can't win more then $4. once In month's. I stopped Playing AZ's All or Nothing, that was the only game I ever won anything on but the store clerk's kept stealing my Winning tickets, when I'd WIN $25. an more so what use was It for me to buy an win anything? so they could keep It? at least they are able to go to work (and steal from people) I never!

Sorry BLEU, looks like they have all their #'s covered In each row depending on which one's come up but don't know what they mean to the person that picked them?

I wish, pray & hope that very, soon we have a Large ($1-2mill+) Winning ticket!

                                                        Hurray!Sad Wavey
