Friday 13th proved lucky for one French ticketholder, as they scooped the 15 million euro (£10 million or US$19 million) jackpot in the first Euro Millions lottery draw.
There were no jackpot winners in Britain or Spain, but there was one ticketholder in the UK to scoop a six-figure sum yesterday, National Lottery organizer Camelot said.
The lucky ticket won £112,550 by matching five main numbers.
There are no Spanish winners in the top three tiers.
The winning numbers were 16, 29, 32, 36, and 41, with the winning Lucky Star numbers 7 and 9.
Seven UK ticketholders won £8,155 each when they matched four main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers, while 72 ticketholders won £250 when they matched four main numbers and one Lucky Star number.
At the lower end of the winnings, 18,725 ticketholders won £10.30 each by picking one correct main number and two Lucky Stars and 49,655 won £8.60 by matching two main numbers and one Lucky Star.
France's TF1 television channel said the jackpot-winning ticket was bought in the central town of Bourges, after the draw took place near Paris.
The new game is being run by a consortium of lottery operators in Britain, France, and Spain.
More countries could join next year.
Tickets cost two euros (£1.50 or US$2.56) and the organisers say jackpots could reach more than £50m.
The draw takes place every Friday evening.
Next weeks estimated jackpot is £10 million (US$19 million).
