The Nebraska Lottery is introducing its latest $5 Scratch game, Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers.

Developed in partnership with 1972 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers, the new Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers Scratch game brings the excitement of the gridiron to lottery players. Each ticket features three returns to complete for a chance to win up to $40,000. A bonus feature offers the chance to win additional prizes up to $100. In total, there are $1.2 million in cash prizes available in the game.

"Johnny Rodgers is an iconic Nebraskan whose athletic and business achievements are an inspiration to many people. The Nebraska Lottery is excited to work with Johnny to create a new Scratch game for our players," said Jill Marshall, Activing Director of the Nebraska Lottery. "We're sure football fans will love playing the Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers game and collecting all three ticket designs."

"Working with the Nebraska Lottery has been a great experience. I'm looking forward to seeing the Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers Scratch game at retailers all across Nebraska," said Rodgers. "And the fact that a portion of every ticket sold is used to build a better Nebraska by providing grants to college students is something that's very important to me. Education is not just part of life. Education is life itself."

The Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers Scratch game will be officially launched at an event in Lincoln on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Activities planned for the launch event include a press availability with Johnny Rodgers and Nebraska Lottery Acting Director Jill Marshall, a photo and autograph session with "The Jet", and a drawing for a $100 Ethanol fuel gift card and $100 in Scratch tickets. The event will be held at Russ's Market, 1550 South Coddington Avenue in Lincoln between 6 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 26.

The Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers Scratch game will be available soon at Nebraska Lottery retailers. The odds of winning one of the three $40,000 top prizes in the Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers Scratch game are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.09.
