Michigan Lottery

The Michigan Lottery is urging Fantasy 5 players to check their tickets to see if they're the lucky winner of a $105,000 jackpot.

The winning ticket from the May 16, 2016 drawing was sold at the Bay Road Express Stop, located at 2791 Bay Road in Saginaw. The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn: 2, 7, 15, 21, and 25.

The prize must be claimed by 4:45 p.m. Tuesday or it goes to the state School Aid Fund. Fantasy 5 tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date.

If anyone discovers they have the winning ticket, they should contact the Michigan Lottery Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237. The lucky winner must come to Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim the prize.

If the ticket holder does not come forward, it would be the first major prize to go unclaimed in 2017.

$105,000.00 pretax. My bet is that it will not be claimed.

Never underestimate the human ability to procrastinate, even on things that you really shouldn't procrastinate on.

If you buy a lottery ticket & forget to check it, have no idea where you stashed it, that's all on you.Run out of gas on the freeway- that too is all on you!

You're a poet and didn't know it!

I've posted this before, in Germany the expiration date is now 3 years + the time until the 31st of December of the 3rd year. Enough time to trash your house completely and going through every crevasse in the hunt for any scrap of paper that could possibly be a winning ticket.

In Australia in some places you have 7 years, other places tickets don't expire at all ever, depending on the state. I think 180 days to a year is very short considering how many players in the US have to plan so diligently when it comes to establishing trusts and working through the tax situation(s).

Kind of reminds me of that old Steam song from the '60's....Na na na na, hey hey, goodbye ---abbreviated version of course, many na na's left out.  Kiss the jackpot goodbye is my point!
