A man who won the lottery in North Carolina says his pencil picked the winning number for him.
Samuel Manley, a school bus technician from Littleton, stopped at Bert Ammond Country Café in Pleasant Hill on July 29 and bought a $1 Carolina Cash 5 ticket after telling his wife he was feeling lucky, the lottery said.
"I told her, 'I'm going to buy the winning Cash 5 ticket'," he said, according to the lottery.
Instead of picking numbers that are special to him like he usually does, he tried a different technique this time, the lottery said.
"I closed my eyes and let luck be my guide," Manley said, according to the lottery "I put the pencil down and wherever it landed, that's the number I used."
But he put the ticket in his pocket and forgot about it for two days, the lottery said.
When he remembered and checked it, he couldn't believe he had won $160,595.
"I always keep stuff in my pocket and transfer it from shirt to shirt," Manley said, according to the lottery. "I can't believe I was carrying around something worth that much money."
Cash 5 is a "draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every single night," the lottery said.
Manley said he will pay bills with some of the money and put the rest in savings, according to the lottery.
l think l am going to switch. My palantir has been unreliable lately. I am seeking a good diviner rod to chose my numbers moving forward. Thanks for the heads up Samuel.

it's the ouija board system. it works. you have to close your eyes and let the pen or pencil drift along the play slip until you let it drop. much better than a quick pik which relies on the timing of a clerk's finger on a button. never trust a clerk or a machine to select your numbers. you must fill out the slip. much more gratifying when you do it yourself.
That has to be the best logical system ever used to win

I tried that once, and got a ticket with the numbers 7 1/8, 23 9/16, 27 1/4, 37 1/8, 43 15/16, and 52 3/4.
What were you cutting plywood or something?
I remember trying that with p3 before but it never worked so I stopped but think it might be
a good idea to try it with one of the games with more numbers like maybe cash 5.
