Mike, the crime rate is increasing everywhere...I remember as a child being able to go to my neighbours unaccompanied...my daughter does not do that...even for her car pool either one of the servants or I have to wait with her..she is being collected from our gate mind you and as for walking unaccompanied to our neighbours, the question does not arise..New Delhi is particularly insafe for women and children...pity they will never get to enjoy the carefree environment we grew up in.
