Yesterday I went to an agency at which I applied 3 years ago. (Yup, old rut, new shovel!) I kept backing out because I never felt positive about this place. I'm still not sure, but when I got up today I called the manager on his cell phone (talk about being aggressive) and asked him to please put aside 30 minutes tomorrow so we can continue our discussion about my career. He said he was busy, but he found a 9:30 opening in his schedule. Once in a while the voices say "You'll fail. You'll starve. It will never work." Today I'm trying to yell back at them "Sure, because I listened to you, I probably missed out on a lot of money & success but I can catch up now, nya, nya." Isn't it amazing that if a stranger or even a friend said some of the negative things we say to ourselves, we'd be offended, but we seem to accept our own damaging criticism?... [ More ]
