The ones that made me laugh harder than any other movies? The Naked Gun and Airplane! Of course, the best of the best was the extremely short-lived TV series called "Police Squad", which was made by the same folks that made those two movies, but none of the TV executives understood the humor, so it was quickly canceled. They aired only 6 episodes, and those are the best 6 episodes of anything on TV. I managed to get all six on video tape one year when I found a laserdisc rental copy at a library. (That was back when I had a working laserdisc player.) So I rented the disc and made a copy. Hopefully some day they'll release them on DVD (hopefully on HD-DVD). Just the thought of some of the scenes starts to make me giggle!... [ More ]

I don't know why, but I usually don't like "silly" movies. I just can't see the charm in Adam Sandler, for example. Owen Wilson doesn't do anything for my funny bone either. In my teens I watched every Woody Allen movie and, of course, Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther flicks. Back when I was 14 or 15, I sneaked into a theatre and saw Tom Jones. Back then they didn't have ratings, but you had to be 18 to get in. What's really crazy is, if you look at the movie again, there isn't one word that wouldn't be allowed on primetime tv now and there isn't any nudity or offensive sexual content. Albert Finney was fabulous. I also loved "Shampoo" which was considered to be racey at the time. The world sure has changed. I turned on this season's first Nip/Tuck episode and decided to cross the show off my list. I used to like it a lot. I'm no prude, but they've really gone too far. The first 10 minutes showed nothing but people having sex...and very explicitly too. Not my idea of entertainment.... [ More ]

<br />I also really enjoy Christmas Vacation. Hilarious. Randy Quaid is great in that one too. I think I've watched it 20 times.<br /><br />I love that type of movie. The zanier, the better. That's why Comedy Central is my favorite channel. MAD TV gets me rolling. Laughter is one of the most enjoyable aspects of life and I love doing it.

Him, Mike. This move had a great cast. Randy Quaid was really funny as Eddie and Imogene Coca has always been a favorite of mine. People always mention Chevy Chase, who is funny, but rarely say anything about Beverly D'Angelo, who played his wife. She's a really good actress. She played Patsy Cline in Cold Miner's Daughter and actually sang all the songs. Caddyshack was another funny Chevy Chase movie, but my favorite of his back in the 70s was Foul Play. If you like really nutty movies, you've got to rent that.... [ More ]
