This might be a whole new subject. "Is there such a thing as an original thought these days?" I forget who it was, but once a counselor told me that there have been too many people since the beginning of mankind for an original thought to be born. I don't know how many times I've made a joke and heard a similar one on TV. I've even yelled at Jay Leno, "You stole my best line!" Well, I'll try not to be paranoid any more. Nobel Peace Prize. That was in 2002. So I guess the Prez who wasn't considered to be strong or effective won the Nobel Peace Prize while the other guy was planning to invade a poor country and drop bombs on them. I wonder which one will be remembered for fighting this "axis of evil" that hovers all around us. "War may sometimes be a necessary evil. I was to young then to care about foriegn policy or the cost of living. Use to live pretty decent back then on 40.00 a week. Had money left in your pocket after expenses.

Peanut munching ain't a bad prerequisite for the office. Beats the dickens out of just being a professional politician for life, a pretty face, a willingness to do anything to get into the history books. Peanut munching. That's one of the virtues of Jimmy Carter. He won't go down in history as being the strongest, most productive American leader. He'll never compare, say, to John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Tricky Dixon, wossname, the guy before this one, or the one now or his daddy where being the strongest and most productive leaders are the measuring stick. Regarding Jimmy Carter, I really like the man, but I've got to agree with Todd. President Carter is a true humanitarian and I appreciated that 18% interest I earned, but Jimmy won't go down in history as being the strongest and most productive American leader.
