Thanks for the comments, folks. I think we are sadly lacking in diplomacy these days. To qualify for leadership in the world, diplomacy should be a necessary requirement. A "My way or the highway" approach isn't working, is it?
Used to be a country and western song a long time ago, "If loving you is wrong I don't want to be right". Well, I'd one hell of a lot rather be wrong if wrong means I'm against what this prez has been doing and this Congress has been allowing him to do without impeaching him, than be right.

I haven't read Todd's blog about what makes for a bad American and a bad human being. He loves this prez, he loves this war, he hates Moslems, and wants a fence between here and Mexico. Do... [ More ]

I just posted a long comment on Todd's blog. It isn't as colorfully written as yours, but agrees with you that times are changing. I think people are getting sick of hearing that they are "bad" Americans because they disapprove of the way things are being run. When did protest become bad? When did the separation of church and state become un-Patriotic? I can't think of a single time I told a Bush supporter that I disapproved of the war or something the President is doing and wasn't put down for being a Communist, a Liberal or member of some other anti-American group. What I think has happened is that Americans like good sons & daughters wanted strong leadership like a good parent. But being an arrogant & independent group or people, we started to grow tired of all the curfews and time-outs in the corner and when we didn't eat all our peas, still wanted to have dessert.... [ More ]
Are you saying a Senate and House full of Demos, each elected by 51 percent, or more of the voters, could be a BAD thing in the eyes of anyone?

Nahhh. In this country we recognize that come election day it's the wisdom of the people that speaks. When that happens, we all pull together. pull in our guts and recognize that whatever we might have thought previously, we were wrong.

If it's all Republicans in there, the people spoke saying this war is a righteous thing,... [ More ]
