Who really cares if he took the bribe during that particular conversation. The point is that he would have taken it at some point, and he was not outraged that someone was trying to bribe him. Instead of saying "I will not associate with people who want to bribe me" he stayed and discussed things with them. The fact that he got away with it -- and that the media is complicit in giving him a pass -- helps create more corruption in Congress. Where is the outrage? Where is Keith Olberman calling for his resignation? Where are the others in his party demanding his resignation, ala Mark Foley?... [ More ]
