Not hardly jap. I know more about public education and policy than she does. Taking badly needed funds from public education to benefit a few will not improve failing schools. She has expressed her displeasure with public education on numerous occasions. Since the majority of kids go to public schools, it makes no sense to have someone over education that have a disdain for public education. I received an excellent education in public school, as did my wife and children. It gave me the foundation I needed to be successful in all future endeavors.... [ More ]

As a retired educator I find the appointment of a non-educator to be an insult to the teaching profession. She knows nothing about public school policy. The majority of kids will be attending public schools. She is not concerned about improving public education. Her main goal is to provide vouchers to private schools and take money away from the public schools. She is a she-demon.

Obviously it was a tongue-firmly-planted-in-cheek kind of tweet. But in this climate where people perceive anything and everything through their own political prism, it didn't go over well.

Betsy DeVos, the new Secretary of Education, sent out this tweet soon after starting her job:
