A Long Island dope who dreamed of engaging in â€œviolent jihadâ€ and even traveled abroad to join ISIS â€” led the feds to his own doorstep when he started gabbing about his intentions after a recent pot arrest, federal authorities said Saturday. Elvis Redzepagic traveled to Turkey and Jordan in attempts to enter Syria so he could join ISIS and the al-Nusrah Front, a branch of al Qaeda, the US Attorney's office said Saturday, a day after the wannabe jihadist was busted at his Commack home. Before the terror bust, Redzepagic was arrested for minor crimes such as pot possession in Suffolk on Feb. 2, and trying to sneak onto the New York City subway on Feb. 28, records show. NEW YORK -- Prosecutors say a New York man repeatedly traveled to the Middle East to try to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or al-Nusra Front extremist groups and told authorities he d been prepared to sacrifice himself for jihad. Jordan hangs 10 for attacks linked to Islamic extremism Elvis Redzepagic of Commack, New York, appeared in Brooklyn federal court Saturday and was ordered held without bail. The 26-year-old U.S. citizen is charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. The Department of Justice said in a statement Redzepagic traveled to the Middle East twice in the past two years to seriously attempt to join a foreign terrorist organization
