He was on the ship when Pearl Harbor was attacked. I was in awe when I visited Hawaii last year and toured Pearl Harbor and the USS Missouri, and of course, the Arizona Memorial.

The U.S.S. Laffey, the ship that would not die , was hit by 6 Kamikazes

and 4 bombs, but remained afloat after an 80 minute battle that included

22 ferocious Kamikaze attacks.
