<br />We have a lot of wind turbines here in the Panhandle and I believe Texas leads the nation in the amt. of electricity generated. The ones sited near playa lakes, where migrating fowl stop to rest and drink twice/yr. are the biggest killers of birds. Solar is not w/out its problems, too, but that's a whole 'nuther debate.

At a White House meeting with Republican Congressional leadership on Tuesday, President Donald Trump pitched the idea of a southern border covered in solar panels that could generate electricity to help pay for the cost of the wall.

Trump s idea of using solar panels on the U.S. Mexico border wall comes amidst global criticism of Trump s withdrawal of the U.S. from the Paris climate accord.

Ideas for how solar panels on the border wall could pay for itself include leasing parts of the wall to solar utilities and selling some of the energy produced to Mexico and the U.S. grid. ....
