My science background has a lot to do with it. I grow all of my vegetables during the spring and summer and freeze enough to last the whole winter. I also grow big insecticide free tomatoes. I channel the rain water to run in the gardens next to the house with a simple attachment. Nothing makes a garden grow like rain water. It has all the nutrients needed for plants to grow healthy. A good fertilizer is a must. I also grew cabbage and mustard greens.

When I was in high school, we had all the classes he lists in addition to auto mechanics. These trades actually teach students how to do something which gives them a jump start in the 'basic' work force in case they can't or don't want to do college. Nowadays, these classes are no longer offered in high schools which is sad. Girls would actually learn how to cook and prepare meals where I come from which was a definite plus once she met her future husband. There's not a boy in any school right now that wouldn't be crazy about a girl that knows how to cook him something after football practice. Our schools have went to hell.... [ More ]
