Iraq was one of the nations designated as the Axis of Evil, North Korea and Iran are the other two. North Korea is being dealt with by its neighbors and kept in check by them. Saddam is toppled and the fighting between tribes in Iraq had been taking place hundreds of years before US boots hit the ground. two wrongs do not make a right....what you have to realise that this can make it unsafer for a number of innocent americans in the long run....as for him him being evil, he was....however not being a fundamentalist, he wasn't any danger to the world as such...the iraqis should have been left alone ......the shias (as in the iranian muslim sect) are now stronger but the sunnis (as in the arab world) are now even more united....

I do believe that his trial and sentencing by the people he ruled with an iron fist was entirely correct .... and the only aspect resembling kangaroo court was that of Ramsey Clark and his rantings. Hope Saddam's death begins to bring closure so the people of Iraq can move forward without fear of his EVER regaining power.

feel sorry for the fact that not only did he commit those crimes described but that he and his men raped women and children in front of other family members. Try and feel the remorse the people who's family he ruined mentally. Think for one minute how you would feel watching him brutalize one of your siblings and then killing them and leave you all alone for the rest of your life to contemplate the massacre. But regardless of tactics, he did a better job of controlling the country than the US or the current Iraqi government. We didn't need to remove him or destroy their country. The only thing that has been accomplished is that we have created a superpower (Iran) in the region going unchecked and we have created more enemies in the Middle East. One of Saddy's favorite ways to off his former friends (without even a kangaroo court) was the old grenade necklace. His sons were also a class act, they would visit schools, and peoples daughters' would disappear, this happened often. Now, Saddy is gone. Let's lay some odds, heaven or hell? I also don't know how I feel about it. I think he did deserve to die. The way he treated his people was inexcusable. I'm just not sure if I would rather him had a life sentence and just suffered longer.

Just watch a documentary of the thousands of people he murdered in mass executions with their bodies dumped in mass graves, the children he tourted, the women that were executed because they didn't want to sleep with him, the families that were split apart and murdered at his whim, and the faces of the dead women clutching their dead babies laid rotting in the street after they died in a painful chemical attack, and perhaps that will keep you from shedding a tear for the Butcher of Baghdad.... he may have deserved to die but not at the hands of a kangaroo court.....his death is going to make the situation even more volatile...this whole exercise has been one big mistake from the very beginning.
