I was only 11 years old in 1973 but remember seeing the nightly images and reports from the front lines back in the day when I suppose the MSM was semi-trustworthy anyway. Too young back then to understand what was transpiring in Vietnam, but I later bought a bunch of books and took the initiative to study up on the war over the years. One of the most informative and authoritative books on the subject for me was Stanley Karnow's VIETNAM, an historical account of the war in Vietnam, published in 1983. Still a fascinating subject for me to this day. Always had the the highest respect for Vietnam Vets. Disgraceful the treatment many of them received upon return to the USA after the war ended, or otherwise upon completing tours of duty. Wouldn't happen under the President we have today!... [ More ]
