I'm glad it was cancelled. It was an asinine idea in the first place. What is there to celebrate while we are still at war in two countries and involved in spec ops in numerous countries? As a bonafide super power, we(USA) don't have to flex our muscles to other countries, never have, and I hope we never will. The USA stand ready at all times.

The DC mayor was inflating costs for the parade. Probably needed to skim the feds for some bucks to help balance his budget.
