Thanks KAL. I know no more than has been presented as news articles so playing on pure speculation with the following. Pres Trump likely had Cohen on retainer to be able to access his services when needed. Due to Pres Trump being a public figure there had to be opportunists alleging indiscretions in the past whether they took place or not. I assume nothing about any potential indiscretion because of not being a witness to it. That said, there may have been another escrow fund Cohen had access to in order to pay potential claimants in exchange for non disclosure agreements. Again pure speculation but if such second account in fact existed that would be totally separate from any campaign funds being used.... [ More ]

I imagine Trump did direct Cohen to make the payments, but so what? It's not a crime and not an ethics violation. Putting together nondisclosure agreements is something attorneys do for their clients every day of the week. The money came from Trump's personal finances and had nothing to do with campaign finances. It was Trump's way of dealing with personal indiscretions from bygone years that he didn't want to come up during the campaign. But apparently the DNC offered the beloved porn star a lot more money to go ahead and break the terms of her NDA with Trump. Lanny Davis is a dishonest Democrat hack and a sorry excuse of an attorney in that he got his client to enter guilty pleas on charges that are not even crimes, but are being touted by the media as some manner of egregious campaign violations. What a load of hogwash! The payments to those two floozies were completely irrelevant to any campaign issues but Mueller rigged it with the plea bargain so that Cohen would say whatever Mueller wanted him to say in exchange for leniency on the tax evasion charges....
