I wasn't jealous of him, just that she was insane and we had a horrible relationship and after we split (Thank God) everytime I heard him it made me think of her and I wanted to put her plumb out of my thoughts forever.

I listen to "Forever and Ever, Amen" fairly often, have most of his music in my mp3 jukebox.

My grandmother loved Alabama and I bought her every cassette tape of theirs I could find. (this was before CDs became widespread) Her favorite was some collection of old Gospel tunes they had done.

Thanks, carbob. I don't remember those guys mentioning balut, but I know about it from watching cooking/recipe videos. I'll try most anything, but believe I'd pass on that. That's gross, but the things the guys were talking about were more of a sexual nature.

Also, Randy Travis was in the audience, and Randy Owens went down and helped Randy Travis on to the stage. Poor guy is in bad health and they had to hold onto him. They sang the last verse of "Forever and Ever, and Travis finished with "Amen". What a touching tribute.
All the old time country stars are getting old, (as am I). I've seen Alabama many times and can remember Randy Owens jumping around the stage like a lunatic, LOL. Last night he wasn't as energetic.
Interesting story, carbob. What were those other two stars doing there? Were they with the show? Was that part of a USO tour? I used to roughneck with a couple of guys who had been stationed there in the P.I. and they got to telling Subic Bay stories one time, trying to out-gross ea. other. I don't know who won, but it sure as hell grossed ME out.

I was very fortunate to see him perform twice. One of the times was Clark AB, Philippines. He was performing Malaguena when one of his guitar strings broke. He sent an assistant to the VOQ for a spare. When the string arrived he started Malaguena over again, may have been his best performance of the song ever. Recognized a couple of the audience, person in black hat Little Jimmy Dickens and Ray Stevens.
