Pretty sure I'm on the road to drawing negative energy which likes to seep in when you just can't find the upside in a situation. But I tried.

On the road at 5 a.m., stopped at my favorite Royal Farms for gas and decided, since things were extremely quiet, to get my last two holdout numbers from the machine.

Put my money in and started the process at which point a RF manager walked over and said I had this locked out as the machine was spitting out tickets. So, of course, I apologized for getting tickets. I said absolutely nothing else. The manager then announces that this is going nationwide. She's basically standing on my feet and tapping a heel while I'm trying to finish up. Apparently, I interrupted the flow. Sorry.

I stand corrected. Retail employees now have some access to the machines. I'm overjoyed.

Playing (and hopefully winning) the lottery brings me a brief respite from the chaos and stress of life in general and that found in being responsible for two adults who cannot take care for themselves. All things considered, it feels like someone is messing with my happy. Not the retailer, employees, other players, the machine, or even the wind. Blaming the DE Lottery seems convenient, but change is a constant in all things and most people see these changes as progress. I'm left thinking perhaps the Universe is trying to get my attention. Maybe it's time for me to change. At the very least, think about changing how I approach all things lottery. I can see the positive in the potential.

It's 7:18, of course.

... [ More ]
