The earth will survive even us humans. As a metaphor with respect to the earth we humans are like fleas on a dog. We can eliminate ourselves with pollution but the earth will survive us and repair.

It's been said rise in temps like that are a precursor of a min-ice-age. Think we're all getting a hint about that.
