I probably should have said "most" of them because I'm sure there are some who don't qualify for aid, but there are private and public charities - as I know YOU know - that help them out with food and shelter. That said, there are many who just don't want help because they know to get that help or to stay in a shelter, they have to be sober...or Heaven forbid, listen to a short sermon.

I am also proud but mostly I'm thankful to have been born here. We have our faults, but even the homeless living under bridges here have it better than at least a good third of the rest of the world does; at least they have access to housing, food and clean water even if they don't want to take advantage of it.
