When I first came to work at the Company I work at now back in 1985, one of the custom built CAD systems they had (was actually an Apple IIE with a modified operating system custom programed) that had VR capability. Although it worked, one wrong noise and you would have to spend an hour retraining it again. Believe me, I can type a LOT faster then I can speak. Now, if I can just get my fingers to keep up with my thought process...oh wait...nevermind, somethings just should never be allowed, especially when it comes to my thought process.... [ More ]

It's funny that you brought up this subject. You should have heard me screaming at the phone last month. I needed a printer and purchased an AIO HP, called the help line to register and to ask a question. The automated system asked me to speak the model number. At first I quietly said "F380" and was told "not recognized." I tried everything. Then it asked me if it was a pc, printer, digital this or that....and I yell "printer!" Again I hear "sorry, but I did not recognize your answe... [ More ]

You can also talk to your computer and record a WAV/MP3 file and allow people to download it by uploading it to a host site. And you can also use your cell phone camera or webcam for making a video so we can both see and hear what you have to say. Put that up at You Tube or similar.

I see what you mean, but imagine the volume of material that would be recorded from "flow-of-thought" compared to edited compositions? Having to do it on the keyboard forces one to be concise and saves the reader some eye strain.
