They've had quite a few men in the booth, but one of my least favorites was Dennis Miller - even though I liked him as a guest on talk shows and his stand up routine, I didn't like that I needed to keep a dictionary close at hand when he'd spew out some five/six syllable word.

I also liked Alex Karras in the booth; he was one of my favorite players when I was a kid when he played... [ More ]

A poem by Walt Garrison, one of my all-time favorite Dallas Cowboys.

Garrison was born in Denton, TX and worked as a cowboy on a ranch in the summers, then went on to play for the Oklahoma State Cowboys until he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. He spent time on the professional rodeo circuit in the off-seasons and after he retired from football.

His signing bonus with the Cowboys in 1966 included a horse trailer. And if it was third down and ya needed twenty yards, if you'd get the ball to Walt Garrison, by golly, he'd get you five.

... [ More ]
