baby and losing her son, her grief must have been astounding. I can't imagine her pain.I remember hearing about her son's death and I spoke to my mother and we discussed how bitter sweet to have to try to bond with a newborn baby while grieving, and how profoundly sad it must have been. When I heard of Anna's death it was like a ton of bricks, all I could think of was how sad for her new baby. Being a new mother myself, I can't imagine leaving my daughter alone in this world... Rick, of course I feel badly and my heart goes out to her family. I was just commenting on the amount of press one woman has received. As Emily wrote, she really didn't contribute much to this world. I mean, everyday people sacrifice their lives for others. There are too many unsung heroes for one person to get this kind of attention. I guess society is fascinated by dysfunctional people. I have to admit I was even curious who the father of her baby would turn out to be. Media frenzy can be contagious.... [ More ]

Most people in the world are more concerned with issues like who got booted off "Idol" or "Dancing with the Stars" last night.. The so-called "Main Stream Media" who are reportedly responsible for shaping our world affairs opinions are actually more interested in girdle-snapping than an illegal war. But on a human level, I feel bed for the Smith family regardless of what the MSM feeds us.

I still wonder why a drugged up former model/stripper gets more press coverage on some stations than the Iraq war. Anyway, I pray that her beautiful baby girl miraculously escaped the damaging effects of alcohol and drug abuse during pregnancy.
