Thanks, DD. As my comment below indicates, my LCD is dying slowly. I've spoken to a couple of computer repair techs, and they suggest replacing the screen. I really need a laptop for presentations, but I prefer a desktop. Wish I had the technical expertise to change my own screen, but it looks very complicated and there are no guarantees. I'm going to call Circuit City in the morning and ask if they can direct me to someone at Toshiba, since I'm getting nowhere with them. I think once a computer is past the warranty, there is nothing I can really do. My DVD player stopped working a month after the warranty and I had to buy a new one. Fortunately, DVD players are very inexpensive. Regarding my computer, I'm going to put it on the floor, chant and do a "rain" dance. You never know what will work. :-)... [ More ]

For anyone else who might read this, if you have trouble with your laptop display, to see if it's the motherboard, video card or the LCD screen, connect it to any monitor in the house. (I still have my 14 inch HP S40 which is 10 years old. ) I figured the cables/connections would be different, but monitors haven't changed and it hooked right up to the back of my laptop. i know your pain.earlier this year my damn hair started going(goodbye charlie sheen looks),my damn teeth were chipping,my cholesterol was over 200,my computer gave up the ghost,i ended up moving,my company got bought out,my air went out on my van,my bankroll went down because of that stupid insane online gambling bill,did i tell you i think i had a major nervous breakdown.i'm pretty sure i had one.believe me i can sympathize......

You worry way too much, and the funny thing is that we all worry, but it turns out that for some strange reason, we are still able to fore tell our feelings and thoughts to you..and vice versa.
