Rick, you should probably buy some of those press-on nails. They come in lots of sizes, lengths and designs. You can even add a rhinestone with some glue to the middle for some extra pizzazz.

Another solution is to cut the toe off at the joint just before the nail. If you cut after the joint, the toe will regenerate, but before the joint, and wala...no more nails to deal with. Oh, be sure to carterize the wound so you don't bleed to death. But on the bright side, you will save money by not haveing to have your nails painted any more.

Nancy, I have a cure for that. It may not be pleasant but it works. Many years ago I was drilling a 1/2 " hole in a railroad tie for landscaping purposes. My boot was propping it up off the ground and when the bit went through it struck my boot right where the big toe nail begins. To this day it grows out cracked and very slowly. I never thought of polish to cover the cracks. What color do you use?

When ever I have that problem, I just call a towing company. But they scare the hell out of me when they cut corners. I once toed them to slow down to avoid clipping a tree.
