			<description><![CDATA[<p>&#x3c;br /&#x3e;While Jungle Bells is a festive song sung at Christmas time, it&#x27;s certainly not like Silent Night, We Three Kings, Oh Holy Night, etc., all with a religious theme. Minstrel shows were popular in the late 19th century regardless of what people thought was a &#x22;hidden meaning&#x22; and Jingle Bells was a popular holiday season song.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>A kindergarten through 2nd grade elementary school decided to remove Jingle Bells from its curriculum because of concerns about the song&#x27;s potential to be controversial or offensive. A Karen on the Council Rock Primary School read an article about Jungle Bells being part of the Christy Minstrel repertoire. Must be a group of first class industrial strength Karens to conclude because white men in black face sang Jingle Bells in the middle of the 19th century, the classical Christmas song must be about slavery.<br /><br />Bet they cut Stephen Foster&#x27;s name and bio out of their encyclopedias too.<br /><br />... &#x5b;&#xa0;<a href="/blogentry/168222">More</a>&#xa0;&#x5d;</p>]]></description>
