Being tricked into following false-flaggers (antifa) into trespassing on government property wasn't exactly a wise move but it was far less destructive than the Democrats' "Summer of Love" riots as one west coast governor called them. When federal buildings were burned down, when police stations were set on fire with cops inside, when cars were flipped over and set on fire, when entire sections of cities were walled off with no one allowed in except protesters, when stores and business were totally ransacked and completely destroyed. The main stream media especially CNN, called this violence "peaceful protests". Did any of that happen Jan 6th NOPE!! That was a peaceful protest.
