There was a program on one of those investigating reports (like 60 Minutes or 48 Hours) a few years back about people in Peru selling their kidneys to rich Americans.

<br />All joking aside, poor people in 3rd world countries are being solicited on the Black Market for their organs. Sad. Really sad. But a kidney can feed and clothe a family in South America for years.
