Wow jxp. The operative word here might fix or change. Here's something that a friend of mine who by the way is a minister told me. She said, "Stop sewing your seeds in unfertile ground." Continuing to do good toward someone who would never appreciate your efforts or your heart is a waste. Nothing will grow. Your good deeds will not change that person...why should they. It's like rewarding bad behavior. If you are a giving person give where your efforts will be appreciated and put youself at the top of the list.... [ More ]

I agree, but not everyone wants our help. I mean, you can't "support" drug dealers or violent people. You can only try to guide them and then they make their own choices. If people hate for no reason, you also can't heal them. Ex: my next door neighbor is an ignorant Hillbilly from the backwoods of WV (no offense to the nice people from that beautiful state) and uses anti-semitic words and expressions all the time. For 5 years I've been kind to her. Once she told me about "that dirty Hebe she works with" and I told her it was very hateful & offensive. She never apoligized but stopped for a while, but it's like a bad habit, I guess. So I gave her a ride to the airport when her car wouldn't start. I brought her a gift basket filled with lotions and scented soaps on her 70th birthday. Last week she asked me if I wanted some turkey she had cooked up so I dropped by and once again, she started telling me about some "dirty Jew" blah, blah. So if I sound as if I am belittling...I am. But what you quoted is true. Ya can't fix 'em. However, I do forgive her. I forgive all ignorant, stupid, trashy, lowlifes. LOL (how spiritual of me ;-)... [ More ]
