Hi Nancy and everyone,i just like to say i am so sorry for your problems,I stay in a gated community with Retired folks,college students,disabled and families with children,All races of people stay here,The rules here are strick and enforced if the family donot comply,you will not find the children playing around the property,There are soccer fields and basketball goals in the Community park,we have a 1 strike policy here,if for some reason a person or family fails to comply with the rules,they are give 30 days to vacate and feel free to move in another area,,I love it here ,The people the children are very nice,People have to work together to make things a success,Goodluck all and have a great Week,,,,,,Delores247... A low cost security camera (with the time-lapse software), mounted on your house & pointed towards your car will suddenly have the parents finding the kids a new "field of dreams", or at least you will have proof of whose "little Timmy" did the deed, when it's time to take Mommy to small-claims.

See when you call the police or run them off then your property becomes a target. It's sort of a no win situation. And the worst part is most of the parents could care less.

Yes, a soccer ball, if kicked hard enough can put a nice sized dent in your car. As for the windshied, I don't know. I've had cracked windshieds from propelled stones.

Fortunately, I live in a neighborhood that is mixed with Blacks, Whites, Asian Indians and Koreans. It's a mostly middleclass neighborhood and several of the houses on my street have basketball hoops at the end of their driveways. When the kids are out playing basketball we have had incidents where basketballs have hit cars and prized plants that have gotten some heated exchanges between adults and children. There are playing flields and organized sports in the area so most of the sports that the children play are away from their homes. We do have a problem with skateboarders from time to time, and I'm afraid that one of them may get hit by a car. Most of the kids are polite, but at times you will find one or two that are "hard heads". And mind you, they are not always Black. I've had to call the police on one kid who decided that he needed to block my driveway to play basketball and visit my nextdoor neighbors' children. And he wasn't Black.... [ More ]

Mike, I just saw your comment. Guess I was busy typing. I only mentioned the "policia" word to explain the conversation, but I suppose it could be construed as prejudice. I don't think the fact that they are Mexican has much to do with this problem. I know you probably don't mean it, but when you write something like "colored kids" it sounds bigoted & racist. Gangs of White kids wearing baggy pants or blasting music are just as bad.

there are some colored kids who stay next door in my apartment.my children see them with their loose baggy jeans with their butt crack showing,they blare the boombox real loud,they scream and cuss and act like gang members not to mention one is running in and out of the apartment getting packages for strangers all day long which i think is drugs.these would be nice apartments if they weren't here.

I want to move away from where I live very much. My nerves are very bad from the people that live there. So hopefully things will get better in the future where I can move
