<br />Speaking the woman - she is getting no reward at all. Not a penny. She was told it's because she's a government employee (works for the county garbage operation) and it's against regulations. However, her boss said he might give her an extra vacation day this year for being a good citizen.

<br />I would have kept it and waited to see if someone publicly claimed to have lost the money. Right now the forensics people are trying to find fingerprints on the bag. Then the money will go to the evidence room and sit there for a couple years while they try to make a case against a drug dealer and it will eventually be confiscated because it is drug money. <br />I don't know what I'd do if I found a bag of money in the middle of the road. I wouldn't want my name and face plastered all of the paper (now it's national news) but I also wouldn't want to keep money that wasn't mine.
