MISSOURI The United States is home to nearly 1,000 billionaires this year, 989 to be exact, according to Forbes.

Forbes recently released its 2026 World s Billionaire s List, identifying and raking the wealthiest individuals globally by net worth. Combined, the world s billionaires now hold a record $20.1 trillion in net wealth.

According to Forbes, the state of Missouri is home to eight billionaires. This group has a combined net worth of $49.2 billion.

These are Missouri s eight billionaires, including many familiar names from past rankings:

David Steward ($12.4 billion) Pauline MacMillan Keinath ($9.5 billion) John Morris ($8.9 billion) Jim Kavanaugh ($7.7 billion) Rodger Riney Family ($4.2 billion) Robert Clark ($3.7 billion) Jim McKelvey ($1.6 billion) David Humphreys Family ($1.2 billion)

David Steward is the founder of IT provider World Wide Technology, which he launched in 1990 as a systems integrator. Over the years, World Wide Technology has attracted major corporate clients, like Citi, Verizon and the federal government.

Pauline MacMillan Keinath is believed to be the largest shareholder of Cargill, one of the largest food production companies in the world, holding a 13% stake in the company.

John Morris is the founder of Bass Pro Shops and also owns Cabela s, Big Cedar Lodge and White Marine Group.

Jim Kavanaugh is the CEO of World Wide Technology and also serves on the board of St. Louis-based Stifel Financial.

Rodger Riney is the co-founder of discount brokerage firm Scottrade, which is now under the portfolio of financial firm Charles Schwab.

Robert Clark is the founder of construction firm Clayco, whose major clients include Amazon and Washington University.

Jim McKelvey is the co-founder of financial firm Block Inc. (formerly Square Inc.) and also serves on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

David Humphreys is the president and CEO of roofing company Tamko, one of the nation s largest manufacturer s of roofing shingles.

Forbes lists David Steward, Pauline MacMillan Keinath, Jim Kavanaugh, Rodger Riney, Robert Clark and Jim McKelvey all as residents of St. Louis, Missouri.

John Morris is listed as a resident of Springfield, Missouri, while David Humphreys is listed as a resident of Joplin, Missouri.
