As for the burglar story that sounds like something they do in a blue state. How many times does a group of thieves run into a store and starting grabbing stuff and the security guards just stand there and watch them. Why? Because if they try to stop them the guards can be sued by the criminals. WTF? Maybe the stores should hire silverbacks instead.
