Makes you wonder? I think I got bad gas a couple of times, my car was riding sluggish, it was bad gas, "shame on it all

My husband get on me about keeping the tank over the half mark. He says the same thing as you. This will be helpful for us females would like to run it down to empty. <br

Since gas had gotten so high I try to keep my tank full or just let it get one fourth low and then fill it back up and it's not quite as big a shock to see the price as justxploring said. Wow I see how old her or his post is now from 2007...guess it is a shock now in 2008.....lol

Good post. Most people fill up when they think about it (at least I do) but those are good pointers. I live near so many gas stations that I don't usually pay much attention to my fuel guage. I rarely think about saving a few cents, but if over time I can save a gallon per fillup, it would be worth it. Less fumes in the air also helps the environment. Let's say we follow these helpful hints - will that really make a difference or only by a tiny amount of fuel? I was always told to keep gas in my tank so the line would stay cleaner, but I often wait until that fuel warning light goes on. Then I know I can drive for about 50 miles before I have to fill up again. Maybe another reason to fill up when it's 1/2 empty is so the shock of seeing $45 or $50 on the pump won't kill me. :-)...
