This happened in FL where there seems to be a lot of problems with law enforcement. If someone like this deputy has been working at the department for 12 or more years (article says since 1996) then obviously this isn't the first time she's acted in this manner. Just like people who have been sexually assaulted or hurt by superiors (parents, bosses, spouses) many victims of abuse are afraid to come forward. Another incident (opposite scenario) last year in Atlanta, when a female "deputie's sheriff" was overpowered by a prisoner that escaped and killed a couple of people with her gun in the courthouse, could be a sign that this type of job may not be well suited for women or men that have either physical or psychological issues that impair their ability to perform their duties effectively.<br

What gets me is the two statements issued by the sheriff's office. Not only should the "dumping deputy" be fired, but also the major who runs the jail. His attitude in his statements makes it clear that these incidents happen because he condones them and his people know he will protect them.

This was on CNN and FOX by the way, but it happened here in FL. Obviously, the idiot deputy didn't know what "I can't stand up, I'm a quadriplegic" means. I hope she is fired and the man sues. He was dumped like a piece of trash. I don't care what he did to get arrested. He broke his neck 14 years ago and can't even feel his chest. Sorry for ranting. I'm very upset.

I should have deleted the blog entry and started all over, since I ran out of time to edit. (that 20 minutes can fly by, can't it? :-) The video from the Today Show shows the incident. As I wrote, I posted a link from YouTube before reading the viewer comments which did not represent my personal views, so I deleted it and searched for a replacement.
