I know this is about TV, but for the same reasons some people said they don't like trash TV, I started listening to Christian radio a couple of years ago. Don't get me wrong - I still love good old rock and roll and the guitar playing on Free Bird still makes me lose control. But sometimes it's refreshing not to hear DJs thinking it's cool to talk about nasty stuff on the air.

Was a metaphor used on myself alone to say that by resonating or staying in the middle of political drama that I was drawing drama [negative energy] to myself. The word cootie was used as I've heard children use it on tv as an undesirable circumstance ....... which negative energy is if someone is sensitive enough to perceive it. I used my own example as a lesson I learned from reading about Law of Attraction.

In reference to what truecritic is saying, I hear ya' loud and clear. I can't stand all the F words and other stuff on tv these days. And I have been reduced to watching kiddy shows for my movies for the very same reason. It is a rare occasion to find a movie without cussing unless you go to TCM. The movies there don't have any in them at all.

TrueCritic - I don't mind profanity if it fits the scene. I mean, if you are watching a movie like Casino or Goodfellas and Joe Pesci yells "freak you" or "forget you" it sort of loses its meaning.

When I see uncut 'R' movies now, it appears as if it is some kind of contest against all the other 'R' movies to see who can use the F word the most per movie! I don't have cable and I like the way that language is cut out for local viewing.

You asked previously why I would comment about turning off the boob tube ..... from all I've posted on my blog about law of attraction one fundamental is whatever you hold in your mind is what you resonate with and draw to you in external events such as irrational people. This is the primary reason I stopped doing political posts ........ too many cooties and not enough bug spray to get rid of them.

We use to get a huge montgomery ward catalog when I was young. The highlight of my younger years were the photos of women in bra and panty ads in the catalog. Then we went shopping at wards and I peeked at the mannequins. LOL.

JAP, although I think it's okay to show a little reality on TV, I remember when couples couldn't be shown in the same bed on TV. Now they're naked and having sex, often with more than 1 other person! As a man, you might not remember when a bra in a commercial couldn't be on a live woman or a mannequin with a head. Remember when margarine commercials had to refer to butter as that "high priced spread." Now someone who probably think that was an ad for a call girl. LOL... [ More ]

I remember back in the fifties a show who had Jackie Cooper I think his name was or is. The couple lived in a trailer and had a beagle dog. Any way they had their friends over on one show and they were talking and one of the wives annonced that she was PREGNANT. I was in my early teens at the time. Konane, I agree that we can choose what we watch. I am surprised that this comment comes form you, however. I was just pointing out what is happening in our society and what we view as entertainment. Of course this isn't anything new, but it's getting worse all the time. I haven't watched it (only for a few minutes) but there is a show on Fox where people answer personal questions and admit to cheating on their wives/husband and even insult their parents...just to win money!! I don't believe in censorship and, as you know, I've been accused of being too liberal. However, wanting to live in a free country where we have rights isn't the same as enjoying seeing our family values go down the tube.... [ More ]

John, I said he hasn't been convicted, but since he is the key suspect, he should be keeping a low profile. He isn't just a suspect in Stacy's disappearance but in his third wife's murder. His second wife, who is still alive, had confided in Bolingbrook police officers when they were married that he was violent and threatened to kill her. How has he gone on like this for so long? If Stacy was my daughter, there would be no whole Drew. He would have been drawn and quartered , 4 easy pieces. See if the med. examiner could figure that out. This media spectacle is sickening, that smirking murdering ex-cop should be tossing salad. His enablers should also be tossing salad, this is a perfect example of bad local govt..

What's your take on those trashy little cheerleaders that beat up one little girl? I won't lie, I have left some pretty graphic comments on the videos for youtube about it. I hate these sort of spoiled little brats, and I would love to personally avenge the girl who got beat up., seeing as how her parents aren't going to do anything.

Do you think this is going too far?

CNN's Larry King Live show will have Drew Peterson as its guest on Friday night. As you probably know, the former police officer is a prime suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy. Recently, after her disappearance, the body of his third wife was exhumed and ruled a homicide. The medical examiner said it was a murder staged to look like an accident. (Maybe the deep gash in her head was previously overlooked because he was a police officer?)

Anyway, I am not convicting this man of anything. It's just that I was shocked that a man who is suspected of murdering 2 of his wives is becoming such a celebrity. He seems to enjoy the attention and has already gotten his 15 minutes of fame. Now he is the guest of a popular talk show host on a so-called news channel.

They're advertising he will be here to take your calls. That's exciting to me because I never got the chance to talk to Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy.
