<br />My Cannon is a BJC-6000, vintage 2000. When reading about repairing them it said there is a counter in those too which necessitates having to send it off to replace the waste ink pad (ink diaper in the bottom) for a fee about equal to a new printer. Or you can pay service fee and postage to let them replace the diaper and reset the chip so it will print again.

The printer I have is a Canon :) I liked it so much that when I needed to replace another old printer, I went looking for this same model, instead of the *newer* version (which didn't have the feature that I wanted). Other people must like this one too. It is the only time I have ever seen the price of older PC equip go up and cost more than the new-&-*un*improved models.
