Talking to hubby tonight I'm old enough [insert picture of dirt here!] to remember gasoline being around $.30 a gallon, gas wars dipping down to in the mid $.20 range when I was around 10. It was around $.35 a gallon in the mid 60's. We've generally figured on the price of everything increasing about 10 x since then PRIOR to recent devaluation of the dollar and for that I'll bring it up to 11.5 x as of now. And of course this got a blip on the news, good news is not good, since that would interfere with the misery index that they want to keep for the current, we are all bummed out 'cause we have to be 'cause if we were to be positive about something that would be bad 'cause it is all Bush's fault.

Certain Walgreens will fill it right on the spot for half price but not for all printers. I know Dell is out. You can call to see what store has the service.

My Cannon is a BJC-6000, vintage 2000. When reading about repairing them it said there is a counter in those too which necessitates having to send it off to replace the waste ink pad (ink diaper in the bottom) for a fee about equal to a new printer. Or you can pay service fee and postage to let them replace the diaper and reset the chip so it will print again.

The printer I have is a Canon :) I liked it so much that when I needed to replace another old printer, I went looking for this same model, instead of the *newer* version (which didn't have the feature that I wanted). Other people must like this one too. It is the only time I have ever seen the price of older PC equip go up and cost more than the new-&-*un*improved models.

Think we're experiencing a double whammy, China using about as much crude as we are increasing demand and price plus our dollar being devalued on the world money market. We have the darling socialist press to thank for the latter, they spent the past few years denigrating the US and the sheeple world wide believed them.
