What you are describing is essentially how I pick P4 for Md. (manually). There are definitely some repeating patterns from time to time and if you stick to those patterns you'll hit.

I may actually release this as a separate small program; it's something that may be incorporated into JADE LSG 2.0.

I did some back testing and if this is as good as I think it is, you're in for a nice little program all by itself.
