Having lots of money doesn't impart character, only amplifies it. If a person has relatives that they want to pass some of their wealth on to, then they may want to arrange that. If they don't have relatives, then if they don't spend it all, it just goes to the state when they die. How 'frugal' do you think the state will be?

I wish one day that I will have the opportunity to experience first hand at being a powerball winner. However, I am 100% positive that I wouldn't squander my winnings. I'll be like MeFirst said, I'd be soooo darn happy and excited that I'd be enjoying my life to the maximum within reason!!! Doom and Gloom wouldn't be a part of my vocabulary!!!

I believe the answer to your question is heavily geared to what you want to believe! If you are into the doom and gloom of the drive-by media, then everything is bad, including winning money. Thus they relish writing word after word, or showing video after video, showing the downside of a winner. A winner is some one who does not believe in doom and gloom, most are out there enjoying the heck out of being rich. I tend to believe, world wide, there are hundred of new millionares every year, and that a high percent, probably in the 90's, have not had a problem enjoy the fortune.... [ More ]

I haven't figured out whether powerball winners are winners or losers. I know people say they could keep self control and not squander their money, but is this a reasonable concept?
