I feel that same way too. Take a break from it. Don't play for a while. Believe or not, NOT giving in to the idea that you may win today feels like a win in itself. I was exactly the same way, so I had to force myself to slow it down a bit, until I was able to stop for a while. ITS A GREAT FEELING TO BE IN CONTROL. I see it like this, if I was going to win, I should have won it by now. What really aggravates me is reading about people who win with just one ticket, or an ex-con who got out of prison, bought a ticket and won a million dollars, or the ones who win big lotteries more than once. THAT HURTS, AND really all I want to win is $25,000 or so, Life is funny (who ever is calling the shots) Just focus on the good things and let the other ride! I hope this helps, seeing your post helped me, because at one time I was frustrated. Now...... that's life! and without the lottery, I do have a good one....... sometimes most of us forget that!... Only you know your own personality. I think it's always good to take a break, but I really did stop once and my 5 numbers were drawn. That would have been a $58K win, so it's impossible to know when it's "your time" to hit. Maybe if I had played those numbers, they wouldn't have been drawn. Who knows? If you don't have enough money to play, then you really need to stop. If it isn't a big burden on you, then $7 a week to keep you sane is cheaper than taking up smoking, getting drunk, taking Valium or seeing a psychiatrist. Playing the lottery should be fun, since it's a game. But we all know that each of us would like a big win some day. Good luck.... [ More ]

I don't think taking a break from playing is bad. However, I know how you feel. It's hard because you feel like if you don't play your numbers one night, then they might come out. But if it gets to the point where you are frustrated by playing, then stopping for a bit is probably good for you.

I do not play every day or every draw. <br />The lottery will be there tomorrow.<br />There are many times my number came when I did not play or only played a few that day from my list.<br />I just shrug it off and plan on catching one another time.<br

What do you mean "miss out on winning" by not playing? Haven't you "missed out" when you *did* play, and another set of numbers was drawn? ;-) Take a break. The games will be there when you return.

I agree with the other posters, but I'm like you. Even after I got 4/5 and 4/6 I was unable to change my numbers.

Have found that when I can't make heads or tails with one game, totally switching to another helps even though it's done for dry runs, no money spent. Sometimes you're "off" so taking a break for awhile is also beneficial like MeFirstYouLast just said.

That is how addiction gets a foot hold. When you can't not do something, then you need to walk away from it for a month or two. Life send signals to the brain for a reason.

I feel frustrated with the lottery sometimes. In Canada, I play the different lotteries. Keno, 649, Atlantic, super 7, scratch tickets, etcc..

I don't like to spend alot of money with the lottery. I would like to take a break from it, and then I think what if I didn't play one day or a certain draw and miss out on winning.

The lottery is a win or loose battle. Darn tootin'.
