I wish our legislators were personally re$$$ponsible for the stupid laws with rider$$$ they force on us. Would bet we'd have a multitude of them repealed, pork non-existent, $$$pecial interests sent packing. Government would be about a quarter the size it is, plus run efficiently on a surplus.

The employees, of course, have no worries as to their performance, as govt. agencies don't have to follow the same rules it places on the private sectors such as Sarbanes/Oxley or have to be productive for their shareholders. I can think of a few others that are huge failed bureaurocracies that just take tax dollars, have agendas, do nothing productive, or should totally be overhauled and given over to the private sector.

THE ABSOLUTELY FUNNIEST JOKE EVER ON US!

What was the reason given for developing the Department of Energy

during the Carter administration?

We have spent multi billions of dollars in support of this agency

and I am willing to bet not one person who reads this will remember

the reason given. It was very simple.

THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY WAS INSTITUTED TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

... [ More ]
