Apparently the defendants turned down a plea bargain offer of one year each in prison and chose to exercise their Constitutional right to a jury trial. ( There's something wrong with the system right here. Most cases are pleaded out, never go to court and lots of innocents go to prison because they are afraid of losing in court and getting much more prison time if they lose. Talk about a gamble!) On his last day in office Bush finally cummuted the sentences of the two Boarder Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean. I am so happy for them and their families. This was such a messed up miscarriage of justice. They have been in solitary confinement in Federal Prison for two years for what? Doing their jobs!!!

World Net Daily was instrumental in letter writing campaigns and petitions to the President to get this done.

Due to a technicality they can't be released until March 20th!!! ???
